We're Grief Positive. Not as in “grief is great,” but as in grief is universal and deserves to be seen. In a world that prefers we ignore our pain, we've created a space where your grief is welcome exactly as it is. No pressure to rush or minimize it for anyone else’s comfort.

grief support that meets you EXACTLY where you are
We’re fellow grievers learning as we go and supporting each other along the way. We don’t suppress grief; we make room for it. We listen first and, when invited, share what has helped us- guided by respect for your unique process.

Grief is as individual as the person living it. It doesn't follow a script and there's no single path to healing. Our community meets you with empathy and practical support as you navigate grief your way.

grief as a rite of passage
At Grief Positive, we honor grief as a transformative force that invites us to live more authentically. We acknowledge its weight while also recognizing the opportunity it offers to turn inward and reflect on how we actually want to live.
Hi, I'm Kai!
I’m a death & grief companion and the soul behind Grief Positive.

This project was born from my own losses and the search for support I couldn’t find. It's a product of lived experience and ongoing learning, not authority. I’m still navigating my own grief and expect to be for the rest of my life.

What I share here are the reflections and practices that have helped me so far, in case they can support you too. I believe grief is something we carry better when it’s shared. We can’t grow or transform from what we refuse to acknowledge.

Grief Positive is a communal space to alchemize pain. It exists to offer presence, tools, and companionship so none of us has to walk this path in isolation.
My Story
COMMUNITY LOVE
Voices of Grievers
“Thank you for being patient with me instead of rushing me through my pain. It was the first time my father’s death felt seen and acceptable rather than something I had to get over.”
Laura S.
GRIEVER, NURSE
“Grief Positive held me through the hardest time of my life. Exploring my grief with others who’ve been there made me feel so much less alone and I am so dang grateful for that.”

FAQ

What services do you offer?

We offer grief support (one-on-one sessions using art, nature, movement, and rituals), end-of-life support (presence and ceremonies), community gatherings (Grief Cafés, workshops, rituals), a curated media library, and digital resources for navigating loss.

How do I get started?

You can access our library of media suggestions on our media page, browse our self-paced resources in our store, or reach out to us via our contact page, at hi@griefpositive.com, or on Instagram @griefpositive. We'll be happy to discuss your needs and help you find the right support for your journey.

Where do your Media Library recommendations come from?

Our media library is carefully curated from books, films, podcasts, TV shows, and games we've personally found supportive during grief. Each recommendation is chosen for its ability to offer comfort, understanding, or new perspectives.

Do you offer online or in-person support?

We offer both! One-on-one grief support and end-of-life support are available online or in person if you're located in Hawaii. Community gatherings vary in format.

What's the difference between Grief Support and End-of-Life Support?

Grief Support helps you process and navigate loss after it happens. End-of-Life Support provides compassionate guidance during life's final stages (including anticipatory grief support, presence, meaningful ceremonies to honor someone's unique wishes, etc.)

Can I access Grief Positive services for someone else?

Yes! You can gift support sessions, recommend our resources to loved ones, or reach out on behalf of someone who might benefit from our services. Contact us at hi@griefpositive.com to discuss options. We'd love to hear from you.

Can I use your digital resources to support my own clients or community?

We'd be honored. If you'd like to incorporate our resources into your professional practice or community work, please contact us at hi@griefpositive.com to discuss partnership options.

How much does it cost?

Depends on the type of support you're seeking. Please contact us at hi@griefpositive.com to discuss your specific needs and learn more about our rates.

What is a grief cafe?

A Grief Café is a gathering where people come together in a safe, comfortable environment to discuss grief over tea and cake. It's an open, judgment-free space for honest conversation.

How often do you add new resources?

We regularly update our media library and digital resources as we discover new materials that resonate with the grief journey. Follow us on Instagram @griefpositive for updates on new additions.

Why is it called Grief Positive?

Not because we think grief is good or easy, but because we believe grief is real and often heavy, and want you to feel safe to talk about it openly. We create space for grief to be experienced fully, without shame or silence.
